...Printed Leggings, Finally! | The Sunrise Set I Played Inside A Geodesic Dome | New Time-Lapse Video: The Power of Visionary Art

“When you see the Earth from the Moon, you don’t see any divisions there of nations or states. This might be the symbol, really, for the new mythology to come. That is the country that we are going to be celebrating. And those are the people that we are one with.”

Happy Holidays, folks!  I'm grateful for this life, even though I'm not the best at saying so.  But while I'm exercising gratitude, let me extend it all the way to you for simply reading this.  Knowing I have people getting something from my work is powerfully supportive.  May this cold and stressful season open for you like a pomegranate to the recognition of a deeper self amidst the noise, blue sky beyond the leafless branches...

This week: a truly deep, weird, and wondrous sunrise meditation on guitar and pedals; my latest time-lapse video through Google Glass, which doubles as a manifesto for my fellow artists; new leggings, hoodies, shirts, and cases just in time to help Black Friday muddy the relationship between the sacred and profane; and a baker's dozen of new articles for Globalish, the writing gig that lets me wax poetic about cyborgs, psychedelics, yoga, travel, and a world of other awesome things.

Thanks again for reading and feel free to write me any time!

Sunrise: Electronic Guitar for Awakening

"Wow...awesome!"

"Dope. Evolving cyberacoustic experimentation recorded in a geodesic dome..."

"Electic elegance. You got it, keep it up, the world is hungry for the real deal."
– Erial Ali

Misty late spring sunrise meditation music from a sacred grove, improvised and captured live in May 2014 in a geodesic dome at Flipside (Downtown, TX).

Hypnotic, glitchy instrumental ambience throughout which pulsing grooves and wisps of melody mysteriously flicker like ghost animals in the periphery...timeless forest music that explores an utterly unique and haunting tonal landscape, burning slowly and continuously shifting. An album made for traveling through states of consciousness, from quiet somnolence to twirling hypnagogia to urgent wakefulness, a mirror of the coming day.

For fans of Brian Eno, Robert Fripp, Daniel Lanois, Christopher Willits, Adrian Belew, Tortoise, Boards Of Canada, The Books...

New Time-Lapse Video: The Power of Visionary Art

On how to "plant a seed of liberation in the mind-stream of the viewer," to borrow a phrase from Alex Grey.  On art's potential to change the world, set to the POV time-lapse video footage I took while painting "Manna Vesicles."  Links to both the music and the full talk are here.
